The First 1,000 Days: Nourishing Healthier Futures
Lucy Sullivan, Executive Director, 1,000 Days
Join 1,000 Days on June 12 from 2 – 3 p.m. EST for a webinar to learn more about our work to promote, protect, and strengthen breastfeeding policies, programs and practices in the U.S. and throughout the world. Learn about their upcoming Global Breastfeeding Webinar series 2018, a free training being offered to advocates around the world on how to utilize social media to promote, protect and support breastfeeding in the lead up to World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month (U.S.) in August. A Washington, DC-based advocacy organization, 1,000 Days leads the fight to make the nutrition of women and children during the critical one-thousand-day window between pregnancy and a child’s second birthday a funding and policy priority. Guided by the science showing the foundational importance of the good nutrition early in life and the conviction that all children deserve a chance to reach their full potential, 1,000 Days mobilizes parents, thought-leaders, policymakers and its network of partners to ensure that mothers and children everywhere have a healthy first 1,000 days. 1,000 Days advocates on a range of issues in the U.S. including paid family leave, the Women Infant and Children’s (WIC) program, and protecting access to comprehensive, affordable healthcare to ensure that all of America’s children get a thriving start.
