Improving the Health of Communities through the National Prevention Strategy is a webinar series presented by the Region VIII Federal Partners. Each webinar in this series highlights ways federal agencies are working with communities to increase the number of Americans who are healthy at every stage of life by shifting the nation from a focus on sickness and disease to one based on prevention and wellness. The target audience for the series is staff from Federal, State, and local governments; Tribal nations and communities; community based-organizations; academia; advocacy groups; and faith-based organizations. The general public is also welcome.

FMLA Story Collection Campaign, from NPWF

February 5, 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the day President Clinton signed the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The FMLA has been used more than 100 million times by women and men across the country to care for their parents, children, and spouses when serious illnesses arise, to bond with new children, and to address their own serious health conditions. The National Partnership for Women & Families is collecting stories to document how the FMLA has helped families and to highlight what further action is needed to support working families when family and medical needs arise: share your story today!

HealthConnect One has launched a Hospital Breastfeeding Toolkit, a collection of strategies and resources designed to help guide hospitals through implementation of breastfeeding supportive maternity care practices.
